Morgan Stewart Appointed to California Apartment Association

Partner and Attorney of Manly, Stewart & Finaldi, Mr. Morgan Stewart has recently been appointed to not one but three distinct and prestigious positions within the California Apartment Association (CAA). This is an exciting opportunity for Attorney Stewart to allow his prowess in the real estate litigation field to benefit members of his community, as well as people both near and far in California.

Due to his experience dealing with real estate and business law, he was selected for and appointed to the:

  • Fair Housing and Discrimination Policy Subcommittee: Everyone deserves a chance to live in an apartment complex that is well-suited for their own and their family's needs. This subcommittee is dedicated to ensuring that no discriminatory regulations keep someone from putting a roof over their heads.
  • Legal, Judicial, and Liability Policy Subcommittee: Contracts are critical in real estate law and litigation. Primarily focused on complicated and advanced laws and legislation, this subcommittee clarifies what a renter, owner, developer, or manager should do in the event of legal disputes.
  • Codes and Development Policy Subcommittee: The way an apartment complex is physically constructed and maintained is crucial for everyone's safety and wellbeing. This subcommittee is concerned about potential code violations and development project guidelines. In some ways, this is the metaphorical backbone of the CAA and all California apartments.

What Does the CAA Do?

With more than 13,000 members that support and represent the interests of 50,000+ apartment owners, managers, and other professionals within the housing project industry, the California Apartment Association is the premier group in the state when it comes to government affairs pertaining to apartment housing. The multifamily housing industry is responsible for providing comfortable homes for people of all walks of life, and the CAA does all it can to uphold their rights while simultaneously supporting the apartment managers who house them. It is through this sense of community and cohesion that the CAA truly excels at what it does.
